Google Latitude

I am tracing my memory. Why did I forward this news?....Maybe it one of the reason I don't want be followed in this foreign country. My mobile phone used to be so important to me. I couldn't go out without it. Now, my project might need a phone to geo-tage something. I still think it's something unnecessary to me anymore, although there are many fancy functions attract to me. But I enjoy the feeling of walking in Edinburgh without being tied to any intrusive call. I can concentrate on taking photos, thinking, or imagining anything. And, this video also made me think of MSN. When we have MSN, we may check other people's online status but hind our own. Technology disclosure our desire as well as our vulnerable desire of being private.

Map Channels

Google Maps is a great geographical tool, but we can not customise it into our own interface design. Now, I just found this one, Map Channels. It seems like a bridge between Google Maps and user's own site. I may dig out more latter.

The first trial of using Flickr API

It's destiny. When I felt pressure of not knowing those geographical tools, Mike Greer introduced one way of using Flickr API to mash up some photos onto a page in Dynamic Web Design class. I felt it's a good start now, otherwise, I really felt 'mash up' is something very abstract for me. Of course, there are still too many technical things I can't figure out yet. Although I know the idea should come first, it's still hard to plan something with the uncertainty of being capable of doing it.

BTW, here is a map of Edinburgh World Heritage. Initially, I kept it for myself to exploring the story of this world heritage site when I moved in this city. I took it as an example of the interface design of our future project. I like something is old, something remember past times. The interface of Google Map seems too modern to me. Hopefully, we could lean how to integrate our own designed interface into some easy-to-use map tools.

GPS Game - Tourality

It's a interesting mobile game playing by locations (on TV: FIVE). As limited to web space, I only can upload a short movie clip. Go to their website if you are interested in this.

This is a map to test the function of Google Map. I felt it's easy to use so far. It supports images/videos for any account (free) and allows to collaborate with other users.
